JJ Gontarczyk, the owner/designer of KUBAGON debuted his company at the ICFF 2008. The company takes its name after JJ Gontarczyk’s patent pending joinery system.
The central idea behind his furniture is simplicity, logic and precision.
He designs and makes his one-of-a-kind and custom furniture using reclaimed precious lumber such as ebony and rosewood and combines them with domestic hard wood.
JJ Gontarczyk holds an MFA with Merit in Architecture and Industrial Design from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.
He is based in New York City and has been working here for the past 20 years. His collaborations include such diverse areas as industrial, jewelry and set design. He is an expert and Technical Advisor in the use of exotic lumber for furniture companies.
